Wanda stares up at the building in front of her, squinting against the bright reflection of the sun from perfectly gleaming windows. It felt so… normal, somehow. Just walking up the steps and into a person’s place of work.
And just like that, in the space of a snap— something dark in the back of her mind laughs— she might have a chance at having some family around again.
It’s insane in its simplicity. Which is why she’s sure this isn’t a dream. This is real. It’s happening.
Her heart thuds wildly in her chest, but she manages a small smile at the thought.
“This is it,” she mutters softly, steeling herself as she walks inside the lobby and asks the front desk for a Lorna Dane.
